Retiring Products

14-annual-cvrIt’s a bittersweet day…the final day of the CTMH 2014-2015 Annual Inspirations Idea Book. Many items will be retiring to make room for the new products.  So today is the last day to order retiring products.  Click the picture of the Idea Book to see what is retiring besides the versatile August Stamp of the month.aug15sotmset

Wrapped Up!

Wrapped Up!

My youngest daughter (who is a crafter after my own heart) has a birthday party to attend this coming weekend. She already has her friend’s gift & wanted to wrap it.  Knowing I don’t have much variety of wrapping paper other than for Christmas, I mentioned that she could make some custom paper using some of my stamps if she’d like to. No way! “I don’t want to go to that much trouble.” She looked at what we have, but was rather unimpressed with our options! (Shocking!)  “Well, can I look through your stamps?”  said she.  Of course!

After searching through my many stamps, she settled on Treats of Friendship & the retired Ice Cream Dream.  She chose several of her favorite colors of Exclusive Inks,  & stamped randomly all over the package which she had already wrapped up in some plain old packing paper we had saved for such an occasion.  I had to snap a few quick pics to share with you…just in case you never thought of using your My Acrylix to make your own wrapping paper!  I think she did  a great job!

Over the Hill Cowboy Birthday Card

Over the Hill Cowboy Birthday Card

Sunday afternoon I enjoyed making this cowboy birthday card for our pastor’s 50th birthday.  The theme for the surprise party was “western” so I pulled out some scraps from the retired paper kit, Dakota.  The retired stamp set “just a number” was perfect having the “Over the Hill?” sentiment.  I cut apart the sentiment & pieced it onto the right of the card.

I also pulled out the exclusive retired “Stars Shine Bright” stamp set from the Dallas Convention. Did you know you can bend My Acrylix stamps to change up the look? I thought my boot needed a little something…so I bent the straight star border to make the design on the boot.                                                            {**Tip for the Day: Try bending your My Acrylix stamps**}

I think the cowboy hat added a nice touch to the punchline inside.  I really love it when I have the perfect stamp to customize a birthday card.  (Who knew Pastor was a “Closet Cowboy”?!)

Zoe Scrapbooking Project

Zoe Scrapbooking Project

I finally got the second layout from the Zoe WOTG finished, & of course I decided to change it up just a bit because I had more than 4 pictures I wanted to use. I placed 4 photos on the right hand page & moved the title to the left hand page next to my focal 5 x 7 picture.wpid-20150817_123137_wm.jpgwpid-20150817_201532_wm.jpg

Besides adding three more pics to this page without taking away from my focal photo,  I wanted to include journaling to tell the story of this particular “Best Day Ever.” Flip flaps to the rescue!  I used my 4×3 flip flaps to accomplish this. (I LOVE flip flaps!)

Another Scraps Card from a favorite Workshop on the Go

Another Scraps Card from a favorite Workshop on the Go

Here is another card I made using the scraps from my Chalk It Up WOTG.  (The inspiration for the card was my friend & fellow consultant, Bethany Rielage). The squares were the “scraps” that I saved after cutting out the overlay for the LO I had made with our Cricut Artbooking Cartdridge. For the “hello” sentiment I used our Cricut Artiste Cartridge to cut out the bubble. I then stamped the image with one of the sets included with that cartridge using my lagoon ink. An enamel star finishes off the card. Below is one of the two double page LO’s & 2 more simple cards I made using the Life is Good stamp set included in this workshop.wpid-20140731_120319.jpg

By the way, if you like the cute Life is Good stamp set that comes with the Chalk it Up WOTG, it is still available through the end of August. I’m really glad I saved my scraps!  Thanks for taking a look.

Zoe Workshop On The Go

Zoe Workshop On The Go

I really love the CTMH Workshops on the Go, & Zoe is no exception.  Made to coordinate with our newest Cricut cartridge, Artisry, the My Acrylix stamp set is too cute.

Below is the sample artwork of one of the 2 layouts that can be made with the easy instructions included in this kit.
15-ai-zoe-layout (1)While it is really cute,  I decided to change it up a bit when I made mine because I have 2 little girls. What do you think?wpid-20150810_172300_wm.jpg

I used the green polka dot reverse side instead of the gray pattern; & I used the reverse polka dot side instead of the glacier houndstooth pattern. Even though I followed the same pattern, I got a different look.  Still working on the 2nd LO…will post it when I finish.  Thanks for stopping by.
